Job Title: Teaching Assistant / All-Age, Autism-Specific School
Axcis is working with a fantastic special school specialising in supporting children with lead diagnosis of Autism. This all-age school (4 to 19 years) tailors their provision to each individual’s needs.
The school requires a 1:1 teaching assistant to work with a child whom displays behaviour that challenges. The successful individual will require very high level of resilience and dedication; consistency is key for all children with SEND needs however this is of utmost importance for this individual as their challenging behaviour also stems his lived experiences.
Job details:
• Whole class support but working on a 1:1 or small group basis
• Working on a 1:1 basis with an child whom will display challenging behaviour
• Working independently and as part of a team
• Full time hours (8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday)
• Ongoing basis for the 2024/25 academic year
• Start date - ASAP
Requirements:
• Experience in working on a one to one basis – Essential
• Experience of working with pupils with Autism – Essential
• Experience of working with individuals whom display challenging behaviour – Essential
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required or we’re happy to carry out a new one ahead of you starting the position – Essential
• Minimum of 2 good references – Essential
