Axcis are pleased to be working with a SEND school in Cheltenham who are looking to recruit an experienced teaching assistant to work 1-1 with a Y5 child with attachment disorder. The role is full time five days a week and the hours are 8:30-3:30pm. The role starts in September and has the potential to go on till the end of term.

Situated in Gloucester the school has been described as having a positive and inclusive working ethos and has excellent links to public transport.The school has beautiful grounds and encourages the children to take part in forest school as well as offering modern sport facilities.
You will be a role model, mentor and daily support to the child you will be working with and will need to be able to establish a good working relationship with them. Resilience is an essential trait as the child has challenging behaviour and experience working with children with challenging behaviour is a must. You must have a calm nature and ability to de-escalate situations. The successful candidate will be creative, flexible and have a natural talent for working with students who exhibit challenging behaviour. You will need to provide consistancy and stability and be a good role model.
