We work with mainstream and SEND schools as well as alternative provisions and pupil referral units in and around Chepstow and Monmouthshire who are looking for teaching assistants who have experience in supporting people within health and social care settings. If you have 3 years + experience working as a support worker and have undertaken personal care, administering medication and manual handling we want to hear from you! You will have experience and knowledge of safeguarding and supporting people in a person centred way. This is a great opportunity to transition into working with children in a school environment.
Hours are usually 8:30-3:30pm Monday to Friday. We can offer you regular work and have on the day supply, short term and long term roles so you have the opportunity to be as flexible as you want. Going into different settings and working with different children means you can quickly improve your skill set.
There are also various other shifts in residential homes including weekends. Your professional consultant will be there to guide and support you through the process and a lot of our staff have worked within school settings or health and social care roles themselves and so have an unparalleled knowledge of the sector.
We can offer a competitive refer a friend scheme where you can make up to £250 in high street vouchers. We pay weekly on a Friday a week in arrears and you will be offered training to support you with your own professional development including CPD training sessions on Autism Awareness, Team Teach, Behaviour Management and Non-verbal Communication, to name but a few. To work for us we will need a minimum of two references and you will need a valid DBS on the update service, if you don't have one on the update service you will need to get a new one which will cost £50.
If you are interested, then please contact Charise Clarke at Axcis Education on 0117 373 6127.
This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.
Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.
