JOB TITLE / ROLE:
Support workers for Immediate start - Tewkesbury - Gloucestershire - Role: SEND TA Jobs
Job Title: Support workers for Immediate start - Tewkesbury
JOB WORKING HOURS:
Axcis are actively seeking Support Workers to work at a residential SEND School just outside of Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. This school approach us on a daily basis with a need for additional staff to support their students with a range of SEND needs.
Unlike many, this school offers residential support meaning there are morning, evening and night shifts to cover the site that consists of four 9 bed houses, and two flats.
The different houses accommodate for different needs and therefore we are looking for learning support staff who have experience or a passion for working with pupils with at least one of the following:
- PMLD (profound and multiple learning difficulties)
- Complex health needs
- Physical and sensory impairment
- Severe language and communication difficulties
- Cerebral palsy
- Challenging behaviour
We kindly ask that our applicants have experience, whether that be from previous employments, or through personal experience (looking after a family or friend on a regular basis) as we need to ensure you understand the importance of the care and patience that is required when dealing with more severe SEND and have knowledge of how to support the pupils whilst allowing them to grow and feel a sense of independence.
The school enjoy the consistency of staff and often request their staff based on who have been there previously but, having taken on so many of our ad-hoc staff on a permanent basis, the school are looking for a new pool of fresh faces that can bring a positive attitude to the staff and their pupils.
There are day to day, short and long term opportunities here but if this is something you are quite new to, believe it's a great stepping stone to start on an ad-hoc basis demonstrating your skills before they consider longer term placements, like most of our SEND roles are.
This is a temporary position.
If you are interested, then please contact Suzie Sage at Axcis Education on 0117 373 6127.
Axcis is an equal opportunities employer. The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
All staff will be subject to our stringent vetting procedures, which include an enhanced DBS, full work history, references and a face-to-face interview.
Axcis Education is an employment agency offering temporary supply work for daily, short-term and long-term assignments in addition to permanent positions.
