Axcis Education are looking for an experienced support worker for a Radstock based care provider supporting a individuals with ASC(Autism). The service users are supported by a team of staff members on a 2:1 or 1:1 basis who work regular shifts on a rolling rota over a two week period. You will be expected to work alongside the other support workers to ensure a high level of care with a consistent approach. The team meet on a monthly basis along with the service user to discuss the challenges that are being faced and any changes to support that may benefit the individual's quality of life. This means that you will have a voice and a chance to give your own ideas on ways of improving the support the team provide.
This individual requires a high level of support within his home and in the community so experience supporting people with personal care is desirable. As part of the team you will be expected to share daily duties with the other support worker on shift and be happy to go above and beyond to ensure the service user can achieve his full potential. He has limited speech but is able to understand verbal communication and has a great sense of humour.
This role is to cover long term sickness for a current member of staff and is likely to last a minimum of 10 weeks. You will be expected to work well in a team with a range of different staff members and use your skills to provide a high level of care and support. The working pattern is currently on a 3 days on, 4 days off basis but with a small team of dedicated staff, there is flexibility in which days you work.
