Job Title: Subject Resources Technician - Torbay
Axcis education are currently working with a secondary alternative provision on the outskirts of Torquay, who are looking for a subject technician to assist in preparing resources ready for science and food technology lessons. This is a full-time position – Monday to Friday and is likely to become a permanent position for the successful candidate. School hours are 8.30-16:00. The rate of pay is £85-£95 a day, with a half an hour lunch break.
As a subject technician, you will ensure resources for science and food technology lessons throughout the course of the day. The resources may include subject specific apparatus, clothing, and furniture layout. You must have a ‘can do’ attitude. You will need to be well-organised, independent and an efficient timekeeper, ensuring lesson resources are prepared before the children arrive for their learning.
The school deliver an engaging provision for children who struggle to engage with learning in a mainstream learning environment. Therefore, you must be prepared to interact with students who have complex needs and can become dysregulated at times. Ideally, you would have some previous experience of working with children or adults with complex needs.
