Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Southwark
JOB LOCATION:
London - SE
Are you an experienced special needs (SEND) teaching assistant that has worked with students on the Autistic spectrum? My client is an outstanding special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) school based in South East London. The school is looking for a driven and enthusiastic SEND teaching assistant to work with challenging ASD and SEMH students aged between 11 and 18. The TA will primarily be working in the classroom but there will be some 1:1 work as well. The suitable candidate will need to have experience working with children who have Autism. The ideal candidate will need to be a hard-working, determined and passionate individual who can persevere through challenges, in order to reap the rewards that can come with supporting SEND children. Ideally, the successful TA will need to be adaptable and flexible and willing to work with children with challenging behaviour to help develop good relationships and a love of learning. If you are interested, then please contact Martin Keddie at Axcis Education on 020 7580 2956 or email martin@axcis.co.uk.

This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.

Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.

Axcis is an equal opportunities employer. The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All staff will be subject to our stringent vetting procedures, which include an enhanced DBS, full work history, references and a face-to-face interview.

Axcis Education is an employment agency offering temporary supply work for daily, short-term and long-term assignments in addition to permanent positions.
