A fantastic SEND school in Hillingdon is looking for enthusiastic and proactive teaching assistants to joIn them this September (2020). The school caters for pupils with; ASD, complex needs and to a smaller extent PMLD; so any previous experience working with pupils with these challenges would be ideal. However, the most important attribute needed is the willingness to get involved and be proactive in the classroom. This school has a very modern campus, with excellent facilities to cater for its pupils SEND requirements. The school has both a primary and secondary school on site, so we are looking for teaching assistants who are willing to work with both primary and secondary age pupils is essential. The ideal teaching assistant will have previous experience working with children, or young adults, with ASD and complex needs and be confident in supporting small groups with particular subject/s (e.g. Numeracy, literacy booster groups). You will also be capable of dealing with challenging behaviour and have good interpersonal and communicational skills. About the role: o SEND Teaching Assistant - working with ASD, complex needs and PMLD o Full time, (Mon-Fri) o September 2020 start Ideal Candidate: o Previous SEND experience is essential o Makaton and PECS experience - highly desirable but not essential o Team Teach qualified - also highly desirable, but not essential About the school: o All through SEND school (KS1 -4) o Warm friendly and supportive staff o Ongoing training provided o Well resourced school with state-of-the-art facilities
