About the Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students both academically and emotionally, helping them to engage with learning and develop essential life skills. Many students present with additional complex needs and behaviours that may challenge, therefore experience supporting children and young people with ASC, complex needs, and challenging behaviour is highly desirable. Key responsibilities include: • Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis • Assisting with the delivery of personalised learning programmes • Promoting communication, independence, and social development • Supporting students to regulate emotions and engage positively in learning • Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours using a calm and consistent approach • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and wider school staff • Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment • Building positive relationships that enable students to reach their full potential About the School The school is a specialist provision dedicated to supporting children and young people aged 7-19 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
