Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Sutton, South London From Tuesday 1st September. 8:30am – 4pm (Term Time Only). Temp to perm. From £92.63 per day. Axcis are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in an inclusive, all-through special school in Sutton with an outstanding Ofsted rating. The school provides support to young people with a range of SEND needs and ages. The pupil you will be responsible for requires dedicated 1:1 support, presenting with ASD, ADHD and SEMH needs. Duties include: • Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 6 student with ASD, ADHD, and SEMH behavioural needs • Assisting the pupil with emotional regulation, classroom engagement and behavioural management. • Calmly and effectively dealing with challenging behaviours and situations. • Helping the child move safely around the school. The successful candidate will have: • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND needs in a classroom setting. • Strong behavioural management strategies and communication. • Resilience and confidence in dealing with challenging situations. • Patience and enthusiasm working with young people. • Relevant Teaching Assistant or SEND qualifications are desirable.
