Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Position: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Wandsworth, London Salary: £90-£95 per day Contract Type: Full-time Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-3:30pm We are seeking a committed and compassionate Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in the heart of Wandsworth, London. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of children with diverse learning needs. Key Responsibilities: - Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of SEND, ensuring access to the curriculum and enabling them to achieve their full potential. - Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher to plan and implement effective strategies for learning and inclusion. - Assist in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that caters to the individual needs of each student. - Support pupils with their emotional and behavioural development, employing patience and understanding to manage challenges. - Utilize appropriate communication methods and assistive technologies to engage and support students with communication difficulties. - Monitor and track pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to individual education plans (IEPs) and meetings. - Participate in professional development and training related to SEND practices and policies. Candidate Profile: - Previous experience working with children with SEND is essential. - Hold at least a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent. - Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for inclusive education. - Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. - Enhanced DBS check required upon appointment.
