We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team in the heart of Wandsworth, London. The successful candidate will possess a nurturing spirit and a passion for supporting the educational and emotional requirements of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored support to students with a range of SEND, facilitating their access to the curriculum and enabling them to achieve their full potential.
• Work closely with the classroom teacher to prepare learning materials that meet the diverse needs of students.
• Monitor and report on the progress of students, liaising with the SENCO, teachers, and parents to ensure consistent support.
• Encourage social integration and assist students with their emotional well-being.
• Manage any challenging behaviour effectively and in line with school policies.
• Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavioural Plans.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
• Relevant experience supporting children with SEND in an educational setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive and empathetic approach to student development.
• The ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
• A committed and resilient attitude towards the challenges of supporting SEND.
• An up-to-date enhanced DBS check.
