About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work full-time with pupils in Year 4 who have Special Educational Needs, with a particular focus on Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
You will play a vital role in supporting pupils both academically and emotionally, helping them to access learning, develop positive relationships, and regulate their behaviour in a nurturing and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs
Support emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and wider support staff
Implement individual support strategies and behaviour plans
Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
Support pupils during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Experience working with children with SEN and/or SEMH needs (school or alternative provision experience desirable)
A calm, patient, and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children
An understanding of behaviour as communication
Relevant training or qualifications (desirable but not essential)
