Location: Wallington, SM6
Hours: 9:00am – 3:45pm
Availability: Full-time, part-time and day-to-day opportunities available

A warm and welcoming specialist school in Wallington is looking for caring and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join their supportive team. The school works with pupils with a range of additional needs, including medical needs, Down’s syndrome, ASD and complex learning needs.
This is a great opportunity for experienced SEND professionals, Teaching Assistants, carers and parents of children with SEND who can bring patience, compassion and valuable personal experience to the role.
The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Support pupils with ASD, Down’s syndrome, medical needs and complex SEND
• Provide one-to-one and small group support where required
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Support communication, social development and independence
• Assist with personal care and medical needs where required
• Support pupils with their individual learning activities
• Encourage confidence, engagement and participation
• Help pupils develop their communication, social and life skills
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and other specialist staff
• Help create a safe, positive and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
• Caring, patient and compassionate
• Experienced in supporting pupils with SEND, ideally within a school or specialist setting
• Understanding of ASD, Down’s syndrome and complex needs
• Comfortable supporting pupils with personal care and medical requirements
• Able to adapt their approach to meet individual needs
• A confident communicator and positive team player
• Reliable, flexible and proactive
• Keen to develop their SEND experience
Personal experience as a parent, carer or family member of someone with SEND is also welcomed and valued.
