Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant – Hearing Impairment & High Needs ASD Support
Location: Tulse Hill, South London Start Date: September 2025 Type: Long-Term Agency Role A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Tulse Hill is looking for experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to join their team from September 2025. This is a long-term, full-time, term-time only role through the agency. About the Role: You will: • Provide individualised support to pupils with hearing impairments and high needs Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). • Work closely with teachers and the school’s SEND team to implement personalised learning and communication strategies. • Support the development of communication, social skills, and emotional regulation. • Use appropriate tools such as visual aids, assistive technology, or sign-supported communication as needed. What We’re Looking For: • Proven experience supporting children with hearing loss and/or high needs ASD in an educational setting. • Knowledge of EHCPs and ability to tailor support to meet specific needs. • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to behaviour and learning support. • BSL qualification or experience is desirable but not essential. • Must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
