Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

Position: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant Start Date: January 2025 Working Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday Location: Reading Pay Rate: £83.40 per day (increasing after 12 weeks) Key Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 or small group support for students with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour. • Assist with personal care tasks as required, ensuring dignity and respect for each child. • Build positive and trusting working relationships with children aged 4 to 18 years old. • Adapt to working in different classrooms to meet the needs of various age groups and abilities. • Collaborate effectively with teaching staff and other professionals to deliver tailored support plans. Requirements: • Willingness to provide personal care when needed. • Personal or professional experience supporting individuals with special needs (this can include care work, school settings, home environments or other relevant contexts). • Flexibility to work across different classes and age groups. • Strong communication skills, with a good command of English for effective interaction. • Empathy, patience and the ability to foster positive relationships with children with a range of needs.
