SEND Teaching Assistant – Autism & Language Needs
Location: Rugby
Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: £89 – £105 per day / £445 – £525 per week
We are working with a mainstream school in Rugby (CV21) to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). This full-time role offers the chance to make a significant impact in a child’s early education.
The Role:
You will:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with autism and communication delays.
• Use communication tools such as visuals, now/next boards, and Makaton (training available).
• Support language development through structured activities.
• Help build social interaction and peer relationships.
• Adapt learning resources and help pupils access the curriculum.
About You:
• Experience supporting children with autism or speech and language difficulties.
• Clear, calm communicator with a nurturing approach.
• Willing to learn new strategies and collaborate with SEN professionals.
• Enthusiastic about early intervention and inclusive learning.
• Able to support both academic and emotional development.
