Salary: £89 – £105 per day / £445 – £525 per week
Axcis Education is recruiting for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil in Coventry (CV6) who has autism and associated behaviour needs. The role requires patience, consistency, and excellent de-escalation skills to help the child access learning and feel supported.
The Role:
You will:
• Provide 1:1 classroom support for a pupil with autism and challenging behaviour.
• Implement visual timetables, sensory breaks, and structured routines.
• Support emotional regulation and reduce anxiety triggers.
• Use positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and parents to monitor progress.
About You:
• Experience supporting pupils with autism and behavioural challenges.
• Calm, confident, and resilient under pressure.
• Knowledge of autism strategies (PECS, Makaton, social stories) desirable.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust.
