Job Title: SEND Teacher
We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher to join a specialist all-through autistic school in Maidenhead from September 2026. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm, supporting non-verbal pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within a highly supportive and nurturing educational environment. The successful candidate will have experience working with children or young people with complex SEND needs, particularly pupils with ASD and communication difficulties. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of learners, helping to promote communication, independence, emotional development and academic progress. This role requires a patient, resilient and compassionate teacher who is confident in using a range of communication strategies and approaches to support non-verbal pupils. Experience using visual aids, sensory approaches, PECS, Makaton or alternative communication methods would be highly beneficial. You will work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and families to ensure each pupil receives consistent and meaningful support throughout their education. The ideal candidate will have strong behaviour management skills, a calm and adaptable approach, and a genuine passion for supporting autistic pupils to thrive both academically and socially. Qualified Teacher Status is essential, and previous SEND teaching experience is highly desirable.
