About the Opportunity
Axcis Education is recruiting an enthusiastic and adaptable SEND Teacher to join a well-established group of specialist provisions in Edgware (HA8). These sites support children and young people with a range of additional needs, and we are looking for a teacher who can confidently step into primary, secondary, or FE pathways depending on the needs of the school.
This is an excellent role for someone who thrives in inclusive settings and can bring structure, creativity, and compassion to their teaching.
What the Role Involves
As a SEND Teacher, you will:
Deliver engaging, accessible lessons tailored to pupils’ individual needs
Work with students who may have ASD, complex learning needs, communication differences, sensory needs or physical challenges
Support small classes with a high staff-to-pupil ratio
Use EHCPs to plan personalised learning and record progress
Collaborate closely with support staff, therapists, and senior leaders
Foster a positive, safe, and supportive classroom environment
Adapt teaching for pupils across various age phases, depending on placement needs
We Would Love to Hear From You If You Have:
QTS, QTLS or overseas teaching qualification
Experience teaching in SEND, alternative provision or mainstream with SEND integration
Confidence planning differentiated, student-centred lessons
Strong communication, behaviour management and pastoral skills
A flexible, proactive and resilient attitude
A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Axcis)
