Our school is dedicated to supporting the needs of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. **The Role:** We seek a passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teacher with a focus on SEMH to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have significant experience in supporting children with SEMH needs. You will be responsible for devising and implementing tailored educational strategies that engage and inspire our students. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop and deliver individualised lesson plans that cater to the varied SEMH needs of your students. - Create a positive, secure, and stimulating learning environment that fosters self-esteem and independence. - Collaborate with other teachers, SEND coordinators, and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to the children’s education and well-being. - Utilize a range of teaching methods and educational tools to facilitate a rich and engaging curriculum. - Apply effective behaviour management techniques consistent with school policies, promoting positive behaviours and discipline. - Regularly assess student progress, set targets, and provide feedback to children, parents, and colleagues. - Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and contribute to the overall development of the school’s SEND provisions. - Act as a keyworker for students, monitoring their social, emotional, and academic progress, and coordinating with external agencies where necessary. **Requirements:** - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential. - Proven experience of working with students with SEMH needs. - Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding procedures. - Ability to develop trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers. - Excellent classroom management skills and the capacity to motivate and inspire. - A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to share best practices. - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. **Benefits:** We offer a supportive and collegial environment, ongoing professional development opportunities, and a dedication to staff well-being.
