My client are a SEND secondary school located in Lewisham. They provide education to children with Severe Learning Difficulties, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Multisensory Impairments and Autism.
All pupils have a Statement of Special Educational Need or an Education, Health and Care Plan or are in the process of assessment.
-National Curriculum modified and reviewed regularly.
-Termly Individual Education Priorities derived from the objectives identified in each pupil's Statement of SEND or Education, Health and Care Plan.
-Classes range from 8 to 12 students with three support staff.
-Communication support base with three experienced staff support students with Autism across the school.
-Learning support base with experienced staff who support students with PMLD across the school.
-Use of Symbols and Communication in print. PECS. Multisensory approach. TEACCH approach, strategies and interventions. Speech and Language therapy. Occupational Therapy. iPads with relevant learning apps available to students across the school. All classes have computers with selected, suitable programmes available.
They are now looking for a full time SEND teacher with the relevant SEND experience to join them.
Working hours are Monday to Friday , 8.15am to 4pm. May differ on days for parents evenings etc.
You will be responsible for planning, preparing and delivering lessons as well as managing the support staff within your class.
Pay will depend on experience but ranges from £140 to £160 per day.
