Axcis Education is delighted to be working with a secondary school based in Manchester that is looking for a SEND Teacher to join their specialist autism (ASC) unit after the October half-term until the end of the academic year.
This full-time role would suit a qualified teacher with experience of teaching secondary aged pupils with ASC. Experience working in a specialist ASC unit is desirable but not essential. The specialist teacher would deliver a broad range of subjects (functional skills) to small groups of students with autism.
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching primary/ secondary aged pupils with ASC. A strong understanding of differentiation and de-escalation is essential. Pupils in the unit display some challenging behaviour and have different requirements depending on their autism needs.
This secondary school was recently graded 'Good' by Ofsted with excellent behaviour throughout the school. Strong Senior Leaders set high expectations throughout the school, which has raised attainment and standards of behaviour throughout. This excellent school is extremely accessible by car or various forms of public transport.
This role will begin after the October half-term on a full-time basis until the end of the academic year, this is a great opportunity for a SEND Teacher looking to work in an ASC unit within an excellent school.
This is a temporary position.
