Axcis Education is seeking to appoint an inspirational, motivated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join a special school on a temporary basis that supports children with a range of special educational needs, including moderate learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, physical disabilities, sensory impairments and autistic spectrum conditions. You will need to demonstrate a clear understanding of the special educational needs listed above. As a Teaching Assistant within this school you will need to be comfortable with moving and handling, hoists, feeding, toileting and other personal care.
Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate high aspirations for all learners, to have a flexible approach and be able to meet their holistic needs. In return the school can offer a wonderful group of students who inspire and delight everyone they meet, a welcoming ethos built on respect and teamwork, a highly supportive leadership team and governing body.
Applicants must have worked in a special needs setting or have a nursing or care background, ideally you will have relevant experience and hold a teaching assistant or health and social care qualification although these are not essential. Candidates that hold a Team Teach certificate will be at an advantage.
The school takes pride in providing the best life and learning experiences they possibly can to give each individual an education tailored to their own strengths and needs. The school and its dedicated staff would love to work with someone that is equally as determined to help their children reach their true potential.
To apply for this role please contact Matt Baker at Axcis Education on 0151 448 2810.
This is a temporary position.
This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.
Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.
