Location: St. Helens, United Kingdom Employment Type: Full-time, Long-term Salary: £11.50 - £13.50 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications) Axcis are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide support to children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviours. This role offers a fulfilling opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of children within an educational setting in St. Helens. Key Responsibilities: • Provide tailored support and assistance to children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours in a classroom environment. • Collaborate with teaching staff to implement individualised learning plans and behaviour management strategies. • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the social, emotional, and academic development of students. • Assist with the planning and delivery of engaging activities and interventions to support students' educational progress and personal growth. • Monitor and record students' progress, behaviours, and achievements, and communicate effectively with teaching staff and parents/guardians. • Encourage positive relationships and interactions among students, promoting a sense of belonging and self-confidence. • Contribute to the overall wellbeing and safeguarding of students, adhering to school policies and procedures. Requirements: • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours is highly desirable. • Relevant qualifications in Education, Special Educational Needs, or a related field are advantageous. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and engage effectively with students, staff, and parents/guardians. • Patience, resilience, and empathy when supporting students facing behavioural challenges. • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, while also demonstrating initiative and the ability to work independently when required. • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students and respond to changing circumstances within a dynamic educational environment. • Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of the role.
