Job Title: Experienced Learning Support Assistant (1:1 Support) Location: College, Islington, North London Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time A college situated in the heart of Islington is seeking experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to provide 1:1 support for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This role involves working closely with individual students who have a range of needs, including: -Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), -Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD), -Moderate Learning Disabilities (MLD). The successful candidates will play a vital role in supporting students to engage in both practical and academic courses, including subjects such as life skills and gardening, while promoting their independence and confidence. As a 1:1 LSA, your primary duties will include providing tailored support to individual students, assisting them in engaging with the curriculum, and helping them develop essential life skills. You will be responsible for implementing personalised learning strategies in collaboration with teaching staff and ensuring that the student's needs are met both in and out of the classroom. You will monitor and report on student progress, contributing to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), and provide emotional and behavioural support as required. Flexibility is key, as you will be supporting students across a range of settings, from practical activities like gardening to more traditional classroom-based learning. We are looking for candidates with previous experience working as an LSA or in a similar role, ideally within a SEND environment. Experience supporting students with PMLD, SLD, or MLD is preferred.
