Axcis Education is recruiting for a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Bridport, Dorset. This full-time role would suit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping pupils achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil within the classroom, helping them access learning, develop independence and build confidence within the school environment. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to ensure the pupil receives consistent, nurturing and individualised support. About the Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs • Support the pupil to access the curriculum and engage positively with learning and classroom activities • Work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to implement effective support strategies • Develop a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil through consistency, patience and encouragement • Support emotional regulation, confidence building and social development • Use positive behaviour management strategies to promote engagement and independence • Help create a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment • Support personalised learning activities and adapt resources where required • Encourage independence, communication and positive participation in school life • Monitor progress and celebrate the pupil’s achievements and milestones The school is committed to providing an inclusive and nurturing learning environment where every child is valued as an individual.
