SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary Schools - Wigan - Full Time - September Start Location: Wigan Job Type: Full-Time | Temporary (Term Time Only) Salary: From £93 per day Axcis Education is recruiting dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of supportive primary schools in the Wigan area. We are looking for compassionate and enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about supporting children with SEND. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, working on both a 1:1 basis and with small intervention groups. You will play a key role in helping children achieve their academic, social and emotional potential while working closely with teachers and school staff. Whether you're an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Support Assistant or have relevant experience supporting children with SEND, we'd love to hear from you. These are full-time, term-time positions starting in September. Roles are initially temporary, with temporary-to-permanent opportunities available for the right candidates. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: - Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. - Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage confidence, independence and engagement in learning. - Support children with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation. - Work alongside class teachers to deliver tailored learning activities and interventions. - Adapt learning resources to meet individual pupil needs. - Promote positive behaviour and create an inclusive learning environment. - Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to support pupil progress. Applicants should have: - At least 6 months' experience supporting children or young people with SEND in a professional or voluntary capacity. Candidates with extensive personal experience supporting individuals with SEND are also encouraged to apply. - A patient, caring and proactive approach. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. - Availability to work Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm during term time. - The ability to travel to schools throughout the Wigan area. - The right to work in the UK. Please note: Overseas-trained candidates are welcome to apply. However, applicants must have a minimum of 3 months' experience working within a UK school or education setting. Applicants must be aged 18 or over.
