Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30?am–4:00?pm

The Role:
This All ages school are seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), including non-verbal pupils and those with challenging behaviours. The successful candidate will support teaching staff and individual pupils, ensuring access to the curriculum and promoting personal development and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils with ASD in classroom and small group settings.
Implement individualized learning plans and strategies tailored to each pupil’s needs.
Provide support for non-verbal pupils using communication aids and visual supports.
Assist in managing challenging behaviours in line with school policies.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to monitor progress.
Encourage independence, social skills, and engagement in learning activities.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Experience supporting children with ASD and/or non-verbal pupils.
Knowledge of strategies to support challenging behaviours effectively.
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
Patience, empathy, and resilience in a busy SEN environment.
Relevant SEN or teaching support qualifications preferred.
