Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
A special needs school in Slough is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a Year 8 pupil with social, emotional and mental health needs from September 2026. This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 3:30pm, with a daily rate of £92.63. The successful candidate will work closely with the pupil throughout the school day, providing consistent support, encouragement and positive guidance both inside and outside of the classroom. The role requires someone nurturing, relatable and patient who is able to build a strong and trusting relationship while maintaining clear boundaries and high expectations. Applicants must be confident managing challenging behaviour and able to remain calm and professional in difficult situations. You will support the pupil with emotional regulation, engagement in learning and social development, helping them to feel safe, understood and supported within the school environment. The ideal candidate will be emotionally resilient, approachable and passionate about supporting vulnerable young people with additional needs. Previous experience working within SEMH, SEND, behaviour support or youth work settings would be highly beneficial.
