Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
SEMH Teaching Assistant – Exeter
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you want to work in a setting where every child’s safety, wellbeing and progress are the highest priority?
We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in the Exeter area, supporting pupils aged 5–18.
About the role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and senior leaders to support pupils both academically and emotionally. You will play a key role in building positive relationships and helping students develop confidence, resilience and coping strategies.
Your responsibilities may include:
• Providing 1:1 and small group support
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
• Assisting with personalised learning plans
• Promoting a calm, safe and structured environment
• Encouraging independence and positive decision-making
This is a highly rewarding role where patience, consistency and empathy are essential.

Key information
Pay: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
Start date: ASAP
Location: Exeter
