Daily Rate: £90–£95 per day
Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant with strong behaviour management skills looking for an ASAP start in a specialist secondary setting? A highly regarded secondary SEND school in Bournemouth is seeking a committed and resilient TA to support pupils with SEMH, ASC and ADHD.
This specialist provision offers a structured, supportive environment with small class sizes of up to 10 pupils, allowing staff to focus on consistency, relationship-building, and emotional regulation. The school supports young people who may have experienced barriers to mainstream education and places a strong emphasis on routine, trust, and positive behaviour strategies.
The Role
Support pupils within a secondary SEND classroom, working with small groups and individuals
Help pupils manage emotions, behaviour, and engagement with learning
Implement behaviour support plans and positive behaviour management strategies
Work closely with teachers, SENCo, and pastoral staff to provide consistent support
Support pupils with SEMH, ASC and ADHD, adapting approaches to meet individual needs
Contribute to a calm, structured, and safe learning environment
Act as a positive role model, building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
The Ideal Candidate
Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary or SEND setting
Strong background supporting pupils with SEMH, behavioural needs, ASC or ADHD
Confident with behaviour management, de-escalation, and emotional regulation strategies
Calm, resilient, and consistent approach, particularly in challenging situations
Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary SEND and pastoral team
Passionate about helping young people re-engage with education and achieve positive outcomes
