Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant Required- Primary- Slough
London - West
Axcis Education is currently working with a brilliant primary school in Slough who are looking for a teaching assistant to work with a Year 6 student with SEMH and challenging behaviour. The teaching assistant must be comfortable in dealing with challenging behaviour, be flexible in nature and will be able to adapt support to situations that occur throughout the school day. A keen interest in sports is desired but not essential. This is a 1:1 teaching assistant role, therefore experience in undertaking similar roles and responsibilities are essential. The student who is in need of support is in a mainstream upper KS2 class. The pupil in question will require support 5 days a week- Monday to Friday- 8:30am to 3:30pm. This forward thinking Slough based primary school is massively refining its facilities in all areas and is an inclusive primary setting with a specialist SEND provision in place to cater for the specific needs of their students. The school in question are currently arranging trial days throughout the beginning of March, so if you have the right experience and are interested in this full-time role then get in touch today! Please note: If you do not hold an enhanced DBS on the update service, Axcis can assist you in processing a new one. This is a temporary position. If you are interested, then please contact Naomi Bateson at Axcis Education on 020 7580 2956.

This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.

Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.

Axcis is an equal opportunities employer. The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All staff will be subject to our stringent vetting procedures, which include an enhanced DBS, full work history, references and a face-to-face interview.

Axcis Education is an employment agency offering temporary supply work for daily, short-term and long-term assignments in addition to permanent positions.
