Job Title: SEMH Teacher
SEMH Teacher – Woking, Surrey Location: Woking, Surrey Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 08:00-15:30 Salary: Paid to scale Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs and Mental Health (SEMH) Teacher to join our multidisciplinary team in Woking. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, personalised learning experiences for pupils with emotional, behavioural and mental health challenges, fostering resilience and academic progress within a supportive environment. Key Responsibilities • Plan, deliver and evaluate tailored lessons for SEMH pupils in line with the National Curriculum and individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). • Conduct assessments, monitor progress and adapt interventions to meet evolving needs. • Collaborate closely with class teachers, SENCO, counsellors, parents and external agencies to ensure a cohesive support network. • Implement positive behaviour strategies, restorative practices and wellbeing programmes. • Contribute to whole-school SEMH policy development, staff training and safeguarding procedures. • Maintain accurate records, produce timely reports and participate in multidisciplinary review meetings. Essential Qualifications & Experience • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Education, Psychology or a related field. • Proven experience (minimum 2?years) teaching pupils with SEMH needs in mainstream or specialist settings. • Strong knowledge of statutory frameworks (SEND Code of Practice, Ofsted guidance). • Excellent communication, organisational and team-working skills.
