Job Title: Secondary Teacher
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Secondary School English Teacher to join a thriving school in the Lymm area of Cheshire. The ideal candidate will have a background in teaching English to Key Stage 3 (KS3), with the ability to adapt lessons to accommodate lower ability groups.
### Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver English lessons to KS3 students, ensuring that each student is engaged and making progress.
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to cater for lower ability pupils, creating differentiated materials to aid learning.
- Use a variety of teaching methods to promote a passion for English language and literature among students.
- Work collaboratively with the SENCo to provide tailored support for students with additional needs.
- Provide regular feedback to students to facilitate their academic growth and report on progress to both SENCo and parents.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students while maintaining accurate records.
- Manage pupil behaviour in the classroom and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Participate in department and school meetings, as well as parent evenings and whole-school training events.
- Remain up-to-date with educational policy and practice, particularly in relation to the teaching of English.
### Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A degree in English or a related subject.
- Proven experience in teaching English to secondary school students at KS3 level.
- Proficient in creating and adapting lesson plans to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage students and work with staff.
- Familiarity with the current curriculum and assessment frameworks for English.
### Additional Requirements:
- A new Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required if the candidate is not on the DBS update service.
- A genuine interest in working with students with special educational needs.
- Ability to provide professional and constructive feedback to SENCo.
