Are you a confident and creative science teacher looking for a new challenge? At Axcis Education, we are working in partnership with a specialist SEMH school to recruit an outstanding Secondary Science Teacher for a full-time role starting in September 2025.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a setting that supports children with complex emotional needs and behavioural challenges. The ideal candidate will have a calm and resilient approach, with the ability to engage learners who may have struggled in mainstream education.
The Role:
You will be delivering science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a focus on re-engaging pupils through creative, tailored teaching. Key Requirements:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Minimum of 6 months' teaching experience (ideally with SEND or SEMH learners)
• Strong science subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4
• Proven ability to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
• Experience engaging pupils with a range of emotional and behavioural needs
• Creative, adaptive approach to lesson planning and delivery
What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a teacher who is passionate about inclusion and understands the power of relationships in education. You’ll need to be proactive, reflective and ready to meet pupils where they are—both academically and emotionally.
What We Offer:
• A dedicated consultant to support you throughout the placement
• Access to CPD and specialist SEND resources
• A chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable young people
