Job Title: Secondary English Teacher - Paignton - Mental Health
Axcis are working with a secure special school in Paignton, to recruit a proficient, resilient and passionate English teacher that has experience teaching Secondary aged pupils with intense challenging behavior, ASD, ADHD and SEMH. This is a full time role to teach small groups of students across general curriculum, as well as entry level GCSE, alongside you must be able to teach many subjects but specialize in English. The school caters for secondary pupils and groups the children according to ability rather than age, so you will need to be prepared to work with children from KS3 to KS4. The candidate must be incredibly engaging and creative with SEND knowledge and dedicated to the children's needs. The school is a purpose built school with fantastic outside grounds, a secure environment to work in with great resources and an excellent variety of teaching assistants to support the suitable candidate. The school is close to the town centre, only a short walk from the local transport links and car parking near by. For this role, it is essential that you have QTS and prior experience in managing challenging behaviour with a compassionate and child centred approach. This is a temporary to permanent role with a salary of £30,000 to £35,000 per annum on a 38 week (plus 6 inset days) contract. This is a temporary position.
