Are you a dedicated SEND practitioner looking for a new challenge? Axcis have a vacancy for a science teacher at a well respected special needs school in Gloucester. The role starts in September and is full time five days a week 8:30-3:30pm. There is potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.
Situated in the heart of Gloucester, the school is well staffed, has small classes and is renowned as a place where pupils can thrive. Here they are taught skill such as resilience, respect, confidence and the ability to self regulate their emotions. The provision is easily accessible and has excellent parking facilities.
There is excellent potential for progression in this school, with many staff being taken onto permanent contracts after a short period of supply work. There is excellent potential for teacher training in this school should you wish to progress your career further down the line.
You will have experience of working with students who have SEMH needs and challenging behaviour. The successful candidate will have a positive, can-do attitude and a resilient personality, with a creative and flexible approach to teaching which builds success through challenge, personalisation and innovation. If you are looking to make a positive change in the world then this is your chance. A lot of these children have had difficult home lives and have been let down many times. Those trained in Team Teach or Mapa would be at an advantage. If you can teach other subjects as well that would put you at an advantage.
