Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant
Primary teaching assistant; Swindon
A primary school in Swindon is currently looking for a teaching assistant to work full time in their resource base starting ASAP. This is working 8:30-3:30 Monday to Friday and term time only. The work will involve supporting students with additional needs within the school’s resource base. Students in the base will be diagnosed with conditions such as autism, ADHD and perhaps some complex needs.
Children within the base will have a separate learning space from other students in the main school, but not be completely segregated. They will have more adaptable learning provisions and a small team dedicated to helping them get the most out of their learning and still achieve and succeed in their educational journey. The school are looking for someone that can contribute to the inclusive environment and bring positivity, empathy, and patience to the role. The ideal person will be reliable, consistent in the school’s policies around behaviour and a team player.
Experience in school is essential, what we are really looking for is experience in supporting special needs, this could be from a job outside of education. To work with children, you will need to have an enhanced DBS on the update service, this can be applied for if you do not currently have one.
