Axcis are pleased to be working with a fantastic secondary Pupil Referral Unit in Cardiff who are seeking to employ a Y3 Teacher who has experience of supporting students with SEMH. The PRU has been rated as outstanding by OFSTED and is situated on the outskirts of Cardiff. The PRU has excellent parking facilities and is easily accessible by public transport.. This is a full time temporary role starting in September Monday-Friday 8:30-3:30pm. There is potential for this role to become permanent for the right candidate. The PRU is in a beautiful, peaceful countryside location with tranquil grounds. The PRU encourages the children to take part in outdoor activities such as swimming, cycling, horse riding and growing fruits and vegetables. The ideal candidate must have experience working as a teacher for primary aged children with SEMH, KS1. The pupils at this PRU have been excluded from mainstream school and can display very challenging behaviour, many of them are working towards their GCSE's. You will be teaching students in small groups of up to seven. You must have effective classroom management skills and a calm and patient nature to be considered for this role. De-escalation texhniques such as Team Teach or MAPA would put you at an advantage. The successful candidate will have a positive, can-do attitude and a resilient personality, with a creative and flexible approach to teaching which builds success through challenge, personalisation and innovation. You will have experience of working with students who have SEMH needs and challenging behaviour and will be a calm and professional role model.
