Axcis Education is working with an amazing all-through school in central Exeter who are looking for a primary teacher to cover a mat leave position.
The school is set within extensive wooded grounds where they operate a culture of focus on outdoor learning with a nurturing and holistic approach. The school is current on a very exciting journey driven by a very passionate and supportive SLT. This school operate their own renowned primary curriculum for which you will receive training and support.
We are looking for a confident and experienced teacher to support a Year 2 class of 21 pupils on a full-time basis. You will need to be able to work with children who have SEMH (Social Emotional and Mental Health needs) and other SEN including ASD as approx. 1/3 of the pupils in this class have additional needs. You will have the support of 4 lovely dedicated and experienced SEN teaching assistants who have worked with this class since September.
" Planning lessons
" Leading a class and providing much needed stability
" Supporting teaching assistants
" Assessing and recording students' progress, preparing reports and taking part in parental consultations
" Undergoing in-service training where required
" Observing and implementing current school policies and good practice
" Contributing to pupil progress across the whole school
The ideal candidate will have
" A flexible and resourceful approach to teaching
" You will be able to demonstrate positive reinforcement
" Confident using alternative methods when teaching students with SEN
" A minimum of 12 months of teaching experience
" Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa)
" Hold QTS in the UK
" Enhanced DBS/Police checks
The role will start in May 2020 until the summer holiday.
