Start Date: ASAP Location: Smethwick Role: Primary SEN Teaching Assistant Contract: Full-time (Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm) Pay Rate: From £89 per day Potential for long-term placement A welcoming primary school in Smethwick is looking to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the primary age range, starting as soon as possible. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and is looking to gain hands-on experience within a school environment. You will work closely with class teachers to support pupils’ learning, confidence, and engagement throughout the school day. The Role Will Involve: • Supporting pupils with additional needs in the classroom and during structured activities • Working 1:1 or alongside small groups to encourage learning and participation • Helping children develop independence, communication, and positive behaviour • Assisting with classroom routines and transitions throughout the day • Building positive relationships with pupils and staff Who We’re Looking For: • A caring and enthusiastic individual with a genuine interest in working with children • Experience working with children or young people in any setting (school experience not required) • A calm, adaptable, and supportive approach • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn • A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start or progress a career working with children, within a supportive primary school environment.
