Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
Daily Rate: From £89 (PAYE)
About the Role
A specialist SEND school in Reading is looking to appoint a caring and dependable Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The school supports both primary and secondary-aged pupils with complex learning, physical and medical needs, and provides a calm, inclusive environment where every child is valued.
This role is well suited to someone who is confident supporting pupils with high levels of need and who takes pride in delivering care with dignity and compassion.
Your Day-to-Day
Support pupils with PMLD and a range of complex additional needs
Assist with personalised learning and sensory-based activities
Provide personal care, including nappy changing, for pupils of all ages
Support mobility, physical development and daily routines
Follow individual care and support plans, including medical needs where required
Work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to ensure consistent support
Promote comfort, safety and independence at every opportunity
What We’re Looking For
Experience supporting children or young people with PMLD or complex needs
(school, care or specialist settings)
Confidence and willingness to provide personal care, including nappy changing
A patient, respectful and nurturing approach
Ability to follow care plans and support physical or medical requirements
Reliable, resilient and a strong team player
