Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 3:45pm

About the Role
Axcis Education is working in partnership with a highly supportive Primary Special Needs School in Greenford, Ealing, to recruit a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role.
The successful candidate will be able to attend paid trial days immediately, with the successful applicant starting as soon as possible.
This position is based within a Reception class, supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). Pupils have a range of complex medical, physical, and learning needs and require consistent, personalised support throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with PMLD and complex needs.
Deliver high-quality personal care, including toileting, hygiene, and physical support.
Support pupils with feeding, including PEG feeding (where trained).
Assist with sensory-based learning activities appropriate to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Use communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, and other sensory-based approaches.
Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and individual care plans.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and medical professionals to provide holistic support.
Monitor and record pupils' progress, wellbeing, and daily care needs.
Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Requirements
Previous experience supporting children with PMLD, complex needs, or within an EYFS SEND setting.
Experience providing personal care and supporting feeding routines, or willingness to undertake training.
Experience with PEG feeding, or willingness to complete training, is highly desirable.
Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or other alternative communication methods.
A calm, patient, and nurturing approach to supporting children with additional needs.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Ability to commit to a full-time, long-term role starting ASAP.
