A hospital school located in St Mary Cray, Orpington are looking for a part time English teacher who can deliver KS4 literature - to start as soon as possible. This school provide assessments, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation in a low secure setting for young people aged between 12 and 18. The students who attend this school are detained under the mental health act and have a wide range of complex mental health, emotional, social and behavioral difficulties sometimes with additional diagnoses of neurodevelopmental disorders including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Some students may also present serious challenging or risk behavior and need a suitable, safe hospital environment in order to plan their care pathway to a less secure setting. This is a part time role and the school are happy to cater to the days you are able to work. This is an on going position. They are looking for an English teacher who can work effectively on a 1:1 or 1:2 basis (there will be teaching assistants in the class also), with a reluctant student who has challenging behavior.
