Job Title: Outreach Education Learning Mentor
Do you have a passion for supporting students who struggle to access a curriculum in a mainstream school? Do you have a passion for supporting students with SEND needs? We are looking for an Outreach Education Learning Mentor to support students aged 9-16 on a 1:1 basis, ensuring they are well supported and have access to a bespoke curriculum, tailored to their needs.
Key Information:
•Pay: £23,250-£30,756, depending on experience and qualifications.
•Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 4:45pm
•Position: Temp to perm
•Start Date: September 2026
About the Role:
•Working alongside teachers and support staff, you will play a key role in helping students access learning, develop confidence, and engage positively with school life.
•You must be able to drive, as part of your role will be commuting between sites in and around Totnes.
•You must have an enthusiasm for supporting students with complex needs, who may struggle to self-regulate.
Your responsibilities will include:
•Supporting students with SEMH on a one-to-one basis and in small groups (Maths & English support)
•Assisting with classroom activities and learning tasks
•Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional development
•Helping to create a calm, structured, and nurturing environment
About the School
•The school supports students aged 9–16 whose needs cannot be met in mainstream education.
•All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) related to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
•The school prides itself on providing a safe, inclusive environment where students are supported to thrive both academically and personally.
