Job Title: One-To-One SEND Teaching Assistant
1:1 Teaching Assistant – Year 3 Pupil with Autism (ASD) NW5 | Full Time | September 2026 Start | Term Time Only Some children need someone who understands that communication doesn't always come through words. We're looking for a patient, intuitive Teaching Assistant to support a bright Year 3 pupil with Autism. This child enjoys routine, has a fantastic memory and thrives when adults understand their world. Busy transitions, unexpected changes and sensory overload can make the school day challenging, so we're looking for someone who can provide consistency, reassurance and encouragement. This isn't a role where you'll simply sit beside a child. You'll become the trusted adult who helps them navigate the school day, celebrate successes and gradually build confidence to become more independent. The role will involve: Supporting the pupil throughout lessons and less structured times such as playtime and lunch. Using visual supports, clear routines and calm communication. Helping the child recognise and regulate their emotions. Working alongside the class teacher to adapt activities where needed. Encouraging social interaction in a way that feels safe and meaningful. We'd love to hear from you if you: Have experience supporting autistic children, either in school or another setting. Naturally notice the small things that make a big difference. Stay calm when others are becoming overwhelmed. Believe in celebrating progress, no matter how small. Are reflective, flexible and keen to learn. If you're someone who believes every child deserves to feel understood before they can succeed, we'd love to meet you.

If you are interested, then please click on the apply button and contact Jessica Flowerdew on 0207 580 2956 | Ext: 1061.

If you are not interested in this role but know someone else who might be, don't forget that we offer £50 in shopping vouchers if you refer a friend to us and we place them in the job. For more details, contact your local Axcis office.

This is a temporary position, unless stated otherwise.

Axcis is an equal opportunities employer and as such we do not discriminate based on age, gender, disability, race or any other equal opportunities criteria.

The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
