Job Title: Mental Health - Learning Support Assistant - Paignton
Axcis are working with a secure special school in Paignton, to recruit an experienced, resilient and passionate learning support assistant that have experience supporting Secondary aged pupils with intense challenging behaviours or ASD, ADHD and SEMH. The candidate must be available from Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 3:30, paying rate is £80 - £85 per day. This is a full time role to support small groups of students across general curriculum, as well as entry level GCSE. The school caters for secondary pupils and groups the children according to ability rather than age, so you will need to be prepared to work with children from KS3 to KS4. You must be incredibly engaging and creative with SEND knowledge and dedicated to the children's needs. The ideal candidate will have high resilience and would have worked previously in an intense environment such as Youth Justice or Homeless Shelters. The school is a purpose built school with fantastic outside grounds, a secure environment to work in with great resources and a variety of lovely teaching assistants to work with. The school is close to the town centre, only a short walk from the local transport links and car parking near by. This is a great opportunity not to be missed! This is a temporary position.
