Job Title: Makaton Secondary SEND Teacher
SEND Teacher (Makaton Trained) – Independent Specialist Provision
Axcis Education is proud to be working with a fantastic independent specialist provision who are seeking a full-time SEND Teacher to join their team.This exciting opportunity is to teach Maths and English to students aged 11–16 working towards their Functional Skills qualifications. The successful candidate will be trained in Makaton and confident in delivering lessons that support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Hearing Impairments.
This is a full time teaching opportunity starting after half term. This is a full time position and the hours for this role are 9.00-16.45. The rate of pay for this position is £25,000-£40,000, depending on your SEND experience and qualifications. Qualified and Unqualified Teachers are welcome to apply.
The provision welcomes learners with a wide range of SEND needs including SEMH, Trauma, ADHD, and ASD. Every student has an EHCP and most benefit from 1:1 support, ensuring a highly supportive teaching environment. With multiple sites and excellent facilities, the school is dedicated to creating opportunities where students can succeed both academically and personally.
The ideal candidate will:
-Be a qualified teacher with SEND experience
-Have training in Makaton (essential)
-Be able to adapt teaching to meet diverse needs
-Have a passion for supporting young people with additional needs
