Mainstream Teaching Assistant - Secondary
If you are located in Swindon and looking for teaching assistant work in local Secondary schools, either on a part time or full time basis, get in touch! We are looking for people to help support pupils either on a 1:1 basis or in a broader group capacity. The type of work that we get in can vary between day to day to longer term and fixed term contracts.
Swindon has some great opportunities in making a genuine difference to a pupils learning, especially during a time when they are really finding a sense of individuality. You could be working with a pupil in helping them better understand core subjects like English and maths, or you could be a regular presence at their special educational needs unit. There really is a wide range of opportunities available! As well as secondary schools, we also work with colleges too, so if you really prefer working more with vulnerable adults then this could be the best route for you.
Swindon has good public transport links, so if you don't drive, it's not a problem, we can still work with you (providing the distance and time works!)
The ideal candidate will have;
- Experience working with children in any format
- Experience working with special needs such as autism or social, emotional difficulties
- Relevant qualifications and/or training such as Team Teach training (although this is not essential)
- A can do attitude and willingness to help a school in anyway they can
- An enhanced DBS certificate on the update service (if you don't have one, we can help you apply for one)
- Previous teaching assistant experience is also desirable but not essential
This is a temporary position.
If you are interested, then please contact Lee Harris at Axcis Education on 0117 373 6127.
This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.
Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.
